Prismissime Eyes – 9-Colors Eyeshadow

What it is:
Just like an artist’s palette, Prismissime Eyes is filled with nine bright and intense shadows in matte and metallic textures.

The model’s eyes look very challenging to reproduce, but if this palette can do this, I’m game!

Ooooh….! I love Shu Uemura powder foundations and this is SOOO cool!! I found this on the Japanese website. It’s black (A Shu first!). It’s natural. It’s powder (oh how we all love powders. Liquids melt right off here in humidapore). And most importantly, it’s got the original Shu Uemura logo. No funny fat funky logo which they were trying out a couple years back. So glad that didn’t work out.

Ok. I’ve tried the original Shu Velvety Perfect powder and I must say it’s really a wonderful product. The powder is so smooth and fine it glides on like a second skin. And it doesn’t clog pores like the M.A.C ones.

I hope this comes to Singapore. This is on my definitely will buy list.

We seldom see such great visuals from Guerlain. The model looks like a cross between that Kose half ang mo model and some other classier ysl face. But overall, Guerlain has pulled off the look well. Her hair is great. There are no blood shot eyes (Cosme 2 months ago – what were they thinking!) and nothing appears terribly wrong. But this too borders on boring. I still love the androgyny of the Shu Uemura chick that my boyfriend kept insisting was a guy.

Speaking the obvious, this Colour Collection looks more Fall than  Spring. But oh that lipgloss… magnificient texture. Skin – boring. Eyes – normal. But the lips… it’s so hard to miss. We all want lips like this. And to achieve this look, I (and Guerlain) recommend KISS KISS gloss in that exact shade the model’s wearing. Find it and it’s a keeper.

Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 is a seriously great lip balm. I have friends who swear by this. It soothes chapped lips, provides extended hydration, and has SPF 4!

What’s even better are the coloured lip balms with SPF 15. I recommend buying all shades. You can never have enough lip protection.

Both products contain cotton seed oil as a softener, Squalane (a moisturising oil derived from the olive) as a moisturising agent, and vitamin E for its antioxidant and moisturising properties.

Her World should really update the beauty section on their website. Heck, they should update the WHOLE website. Christmas was 49 days ago.

I saw this in a magazine and liked it. Then I went down to the Dior counter at Seiyu and was sorely disappointed.

First of all, this product is way too gimmicky. I generally like gimmicky, but this product doesn’t feel like it’s built well. Anyway, it’s HUGE! What do they mean FLIGHT palette! It’s way too BIG to be a portable! And with the number of colours they give (1 each for eye, lip and face), it’s more like a plight palette. Which girl can survive with so few colours. When I go traveling, I bring at least 3 lip colours and 4 eye shadows! But then again I’m not the average simple girl. I want to be chio.

But I have to hand it Dior, this palette will sell sell sell because we’re all suckers suckers suckers. And ya la, size aside, it’s fairly practical. One eye colour (and a good colour too! And hey, the applicator’s included), one lip colour (they should have made the applicator dual ended), and one blush colour with brush. Girls, this is the BARE MINIMAL, I repeat, BARE MINIMAL one should consider wearing.

They built a mobile tent outside the Heeren which they are bringing round Singapore. Smart. Just like that Puma Venue box, except Venue did it much cooler.

So there’s this machine which can measure your body fat, water retention, protein levels, and mineral content. It can’t be right. It deemed me underweight and that’s not possible. I apparently need to gain another 3.2kg to be on track for my height. NOWAY! In fact, I’m hoping to LOSE like at least 2 kg in the next few months. Anyway, the machine is worth a try cos you get a free bottle of evian and a 3 piece skincare sample after. Freebies!

Wonder machine aside, I almost bought the new sunblock. The packaging’s really nice. And I’ll say it again, I’m a sucker for good packaging. It’s a small ergonomic bottle with a matte finish which feels absolutely wonderful in the hand. But at $68, it’s rather pricey for that tiny size. I still need value you know.

This just in through email. Now this is interesting. It claims to create a smooth base for foundation and a final beautiful finish. Yes we all want that. It can be worn alone for natural looking skin (recommended ONLY if you are pretty much flawless), or under foundation to help it last longer. This product is supposed to minimise the appearance of pores and subtly even out skin tone.

Choose wisely
If your skin is beige toned and you have green undertones, go for the pink tint. This will correct your sallow skin tones immediately and make you appear radiant. But if you have a blue undertone, go for the beige tint – beige, which is yellow-based, will even out skin tone by neutralising blue.

How to apply an underbase:
Use your fingers and just use a little bit of product. A dollop of mousse is sufficient for one application. Your fingertips will help warm the mousse slightly and will cause it to melt into your skin.
